Our New Favorite Tequila + Lime Cocktail, a.k.a. the "Bob" Special

Tequila is all the rage - given the fact that this spirit is plant-based and made from fermented agave - that makes sense! There are so many options when it comes to tequila drinking. "Ranch Water" is a current favorite, which is tequila, sparkling water and fresh lime juice over ice. Those who are hard core might order straight tequila on the rocks and sip. We've heard claims that since it is plant-based, the hangover factor is less likely. Umm, yes please. We’ll take less of a hangover any day.

But there are some, you might know them, that just don't love the taste of tequila. Laura is one of those people. She didn't have a terrible "experience in college," she just plain doesn't enjoy the taste. Recently, her fun friend Bob wasn't having any of it and put this drink in front of her at a backyard barbeque, insisting she try. She was shocked that it was, in fact, a tequila drink! It was light, refreshing, and tasted like a skinny marg with a slightly different lime flavor. The secret ingredient here is the Nellie & Joe's Famous Key West Lime Juice - it makes the drink and cuts the tequila taste in the most refreshing way! Internally, we now call this drink the "Bob Special."

If you're reading this and thinking it sounds like Ranch Water...it is similar, yes! But the Key West Lime juice kicks it up a notch and adds a tartness that regular ranch water just doesn't have.

This recipe isn't exact. You’ll have to play with the amounts to your liking - but you'll get the gist. Laura is still trying to make it as perfectly as Bob does. Bob! Please come and serve them up again. They were delicious.

Ingredients

• Shot or two of Tequila Blanco • Topo Chico, soda or sparkling water Nellie & Joe's Famous Key West Lime Juice (linked on Amazon or find in the juice aisle at grocery store, think apple juice, not refrigerated) • ice

• fresh lime wedges for garnish

Directions

1. Fill cup with ice and add your tequila.

2. Add a few glugs of Topo Chico or sparkling water of your choice. Aim to fill glass about half 3/4 of the way full.

3. Add a few "squirts" of the Key West Lime juice to taste and stir to incorporate. If you like lime flavor, add a few more. You can play with it here. The more lime juice you add, the less of the tequila you will taste. You do you!

4. Add a fresh lime wedge.

Enjoy!
