OUR TOP BEDROOM ESSENTIALS

We all know that good sleep is a must, regardless of how many hours we actually get. Case in point...Gretchen feels great with eight, Allison convinces herself she can thrive with about six, Laura legitimately needs nine, and Lindsey is currently making due with seven and-a-half, due to home-schooling and her new puppy. We felt by sharing our own bedroom essentials, we could play a small part in helping those that need more Zzz’s to get them. We looked around our own bedrooms and spotted our tried and true favorites. Each product in this post gets good reviews from at least two, if not all three or four of us!

Sometimes setting the stage and creating a process is the best way to accomplish the good sleep we all need and want. Here’s to less tossing and turning and wide awake moments and more sound and restful continuous hours. Sweet dreams everyone!

“MOST OF THE TIME, THE MOMENT OUR HEAD HITS THE PILLOW WE START TO THINK ABOUT EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENED DURING THE DAY. OR CONVERSELY, EVERYTHING THAT SHOULD’VE HAPPENED AND DIDN’T.”

  • A while back, Laura started having headaches, eye aches and trouble sleeping after repeated late nights in front of the computer. After some research, she found these Caddis Blue Light glasses. With these, her eye aches and headaches are gone!

  • These flannel sheets from Garnet Hill are Ryan and Gretchen’s favorite. They sleep on them year round, even in Phoenix. And that’s sayin’ something!

  • Lindsey doesn’t sleep well without a fan (none of us do). This Vornado fan is the best we’ve found. Three of us own it. It is cute, easily portable and perfect on a bedside table.

  • We’ve all got our phones by the bed these days, but Lindsey loves having a tiny Alexa alarm clock sitting on her nightstand so she can always see the time. Just like the regular Alexa, it also plays music, white noise, sets reminders, etc.

  • This pillow is fluffy, but supportive…and BEST of all, it’s hot water machine washable. Lindsey is like Goldilocks with her pillow, not too hard and not too soft. This one is just right!

  • Gretchen and Laura cannot live without this silk eye mask. It fits well, doesn’t let any light in and is super affordable.

  • Allison and Laura both have this Slip silk pillowcase. It helps minimize crazy bedhead and feels heavenly to snuggle into after a long day.

  • Three of us own these amazing Jennifer Adams sheets. Lindsey introduced us to them as “the best” and we agreed! She has them on the beds in her guest house and is constantly asked about them. They are truly lovely.

  • Allison loves these Himalayan Salt Lamps in her bedroom to help her unwind. They give off a nice calming light once all the artificial lights are turned off. They are also said to have healing properties for things like asthma and allergies. She has one on each side of the bed!

  • Gretchen has been using this authentic German Nivea creme from a european apothecary for YEARS. She keeps a tin of it on her bedside table and puts it on her heels every night. Also great for dry hands or anything that needs serious moisture!

  • This Vitruvi essential oil diffuser is Gretchen’s favorite. She’s been through several but loves this one because it distributes the scent well throughout a room and is clean and chic looking in a room. It’s a bit pricey but worth it as this one has lasted years!

  • It’s not glamorous, but an extra long phone charging cable is an absolute must for the bedroom. Each side should have one! Necessary for reading while charging as the standard iPhone cord is too short and just doesn’t cut it.

  • This book is to keep on your nightstand for when you can’t sleep because you’re worried about trivial things. It will give you something to really worry about. kidding. But to be serious, it’s a must buy for any hypochondriac’s nightstand. ; )

  • The Calm app. This app is great if you’re feeling stressed or anxious. It leads through you various guided meditations It’s a great way to unwind before hitting the pillow.

  • These Target pajamas are a cheaper version of the Eberjay amazing jammies at a fraction of the price. All four of us love and own several pairs of these. They are incredibly soft, wash well and come in winter and summer versions. They run TTS.

  • Allison and Lindsey have been using these CBD Night gummies by Highline for several months now. Allison keeps them on her nightstand (see pic) for when she is feeling restless or knows she will have trouble sleeping well. They always provide a night of sound, uninterrupted sleep with zero “fog” the next morning.

  • Allison experienced this amazing sound machine at a friend’s and fell in love with it after a wonderful night’s sleep (no gummy used)! She placed it in her daughter’s room as well and now it’s a household favorite. We appreciate the unassuming size of this…perfect for tucking behind a picture frame or pillow and for traveling.

  • Allison keeps a bottle of Argan oil on her bedside table and winds down by putting some on her cuticles and nails before bed. She says it feels like a little self-care moment and makes a difference on her nails!

  • These satin pillow cases are Lindsey’s favorite. They are SUPER affordable, and a fab alternative to the pricer Slip brand.

  • These cozy Bear Paw slippers are just like an Ugg, but don’t come with the high price point. These are Gretchen’s go-to slipper she wears daily. She treats herself to a new pair every year!

  • Gretchen loves her anything pepperminty and this Beautycounter lip conditioner is no different. She puts this on each night when she goes to bed and enjoys the lovely scent.

  • This memory foam topper feels like sleeping on a cloud. Enough said.

  • Gretchen and Laura both love a few drops of peppermint oil in their diffusers at home. It lends a cool, crisp and clean feel to the house. It’s refreshing in the summer and according to our kids, smells like “candy canes” in the winter!

  • This Kashwere Basketweave robe! is simply a must! Laura and Gretchen received these for Christmas one year and have loved them ever since. They are beautifully soft and fluffy yet breathable due to the “basketweave” fabric pattern. This makes the best gift! Runs TTS.

  • Laura recently discovered these darling fannel pjs by ban.do in the “party dot” print and loves them. The quality is there and they’re just fun! These make a great gift. Lots of other patterns available. Run TTS.

  • Linds is kind of obsessed with this deep sleep pillow spray. It has a nice, lavender scent that helps her fall asleep and stay asleep at night.
